Great Birthday
A fashion show, with a concert by my favorite portuguese artists, followed by a friendly chat with them. A Jazz concert with two of the greatest pianists around. Going to the beach. Lunch at fancy restaurants. Wow... let it be my birthday next Sunday also.

Web Standards: There's no turning back
Blogger has Relaunched looking great! Some of the people involved in this are among the best out there, namely Jeffrey Veen of Adaptive Path, and Douglas Bowman of StopDesign. The web is on the right track.

Saudades do Estado Novo?

Lenine is (a)live!
What a concert! Lenine live (the Brazilian singer and composer, not the dead one!) is quite an experience. I knew the CDs, but the energy on stage is huge! My friend Catarina was kind enough to get me a ticket, and I didn't hesitate and rushed there. It was well worth it. He's really a musical genious. Creativity was all around. In one song, he recorded his own accompaning "music". He sampled 5 backing sounds, one at a time, that were looped one over the other, and then sang on top of that. I don't know the exact terms, I hope you get the idea.
By the way, Lenine recorded a song in Maria João & Mário Laginha's album "Chorinho Feliz". The song is called "Flor".
Tonight I'm going to Valado dos Frades Jazz Festival. Mario Laginha's Trio is performing. Comming from him, I know it will be excellent.

Que concerto! Lenine ao vivo (o cantor e compositor Brasileiro, não o morto!) é uma experiência e peras. Já conhecia os dois últimos CDs, mas a energia em palco é enorme e supera as expectativas. A minha amiga Catarina proporcionou-me esta fantástica experiência ao arranjar-me um bilhete para o concerto. Obrigado! Eu nao hesitei e fui a correr. E valeu bem a pena. O homem é um génio musical A criatividade estava por todo o lado. Numa música ele gravou, no momento, o seu acompanhamento, apenas com voz. Gravou 5 sons, um de cada vez, que iam sendo postos em loop por cima uns dos outros. E, por cima desta base, cantou a musica. Não sei os termos certos, mas espero que tenham percebido. O efeito foi genial!
A proposito, Lenine gravou com Maria João & Mário Laginha no album "Chorinho Feliz" a canção "Flor".
Hoje vou até ao Festival de Jazz de Valado dos Frades, ver o trio de Mário Laginha. Vindo dele, já sei que vai ser excelente.
