On the news
Royal Mail launches electronic SmartStamps: Now you can print and create postage stamps directly from your printer for use on envelopes and packages. Very usefull for small companies.
Oops! They're swapping again: After six months of declines, peer-to-peer usage recently climbed 14 percent. Well, it shows you have to get users involved, instead of trying to ban them.

10 days since I wrote
Ten Events in the past Ten days:
- Visited an apartment. Didn't buy
- Went to the Gym three times. Not enough
- Had a haircut. Not that anyone would notice
- Spent a fine weekend in very good company. Will repeat
- Missed an information session for an MBA in London. Bad timing
- Realized I need my eyes re-examined. Thirty-something is not all good news
- Sent a birthday email. Been to a birthday party
- Bought a new pair of shoes
- Started planning an article, to be published on a Portuguese newspaper
- Saw my professional future taking shape, little by little

Designing with web standards is the best book I read last year on the topic of Web design. I have commented. Just read it.

Say 101
Wired Magazine has come up with 101 Ways to Save the Internet. Despite of some fundamentalists and their manias and irrational laws, the Internet and the Web will stay a place of freedom and a truly open space.
Clean it up
Ten Steps for Cleaning Up Information Pollution is the latest Alertbox, by Jakob Nielsen. He makes quite a few good points. Worth reading and putting in practice, and see productivity improve... unless you don't want it to. If so, read it and know what NOT to do.
[PT] Diga 101
Toca a limpar

Now try doing something useful for a change
"Los Angeles officials have asked that manufacturers, suppliers and contractors stop using the terms 'master' and 'slave' on computer equipment, saying such terms are unacceptable and offensive.", so it says on the CNN web site. Come on, get a life! Do some actual work, plant a tree or something, instead of creating false issues. This practice is worldwide after all. Political correctness is out!
Fora a uniformidade! Vive la différence!

New Years' in London
Saw this, took a ride there, been on both sides of that, went up there, took a walk there, had lunch there, went shopping there, and a lot more. What a great time I had. I'll be back, and this time I'll stay longer!
